Family picture! Christmas 2011

I’m nerdy, silly, passionate, shy, creative, melancholy, loyal, and perhaps half a dictionary’s worth more. My favorite color is violet, my favorite food is Mexican, and if I had an intravenous caffeine drip I’d still have a cup of coffee in my hand. I’m a lover of family, nature, books, animals and music. I spend most of my conscious non-work/school hours reading, internet-ing, playing video games, shopping, watching crime shows or dark comedies, or cuddling up with my puppy & bunnies (not at the same time – the fur would fly!) (Well, I did… then I had a baby. Now I’m lucky if I brush my teeth everyday. Okay, I totally don’t brush my teeth every day, but I usually manage to bathe!)

I believe that it’s important to know who you are, and to celebrate that. I also believe that the most important thing in life is love, and without it there’s not really much to life.

Dan and I are very alike and yet different enough to annoy each other on occasion, just to keep things interesting. We met in fourth grade and when we finally started dating in college, it was pretty clear we were meant to be, as the cheesy cliché goes.

And introducing… Damien!

One week old

Damien was born December 16, 2011 at 5:34pm. He weighed 8 lbs 6 oz, was 19.5 in long, and was absolutely adorable from the start. For more about the little guy, see my baby blog.
